History
Following an acquisition in 1984, Normand Deslauriers founded the financial services firm Deslauriers & Racine. In 2002 Robert Bournival, Jean-Yves Gaumond, and Stéphane Bernatchez took the helm of the organization and renamed it Deslauriers & Associates, as it is known today. The new owners reorganized the management team and shifted the company’s focus to property and casualty insurance, primarily for commercial clients. The company continued to grow through acquisitions and an expanding client base.
In 2016 Yan Charbonneau became the main shareholder of Deslauriers, which thrived under his leadership and vision. In 2018 the firm restructured its operations into two sectors: commercial insurance and personal property and casualty insurance. The latter was placed under the responsibility of a new subsidiary: Deslauriers Insurance.
Today, the firm has locations on the South Shore and North Shore of Montreal and in Quebec City. In 2020 it joined the Synex family to provide clients with a comprehensive and integrated insurance and financial services offering.
